Spooky fun Halloween scene!

Hey there Friends! Happy October! I was so excited to make my first Halloween card of the season since I got to play with some fun new goodies from the Stampin'Up! Holiday Catalog.  It all started with the Cookie Cutter Builder punch and the Cookie Cutter Halloween stamp set that I used for the cute little mummy. The Spooky Fun Photopolymer Bundle gave me the spooky scene I was looking for with the pumpkins, tree and the witch!

Here's some other close ups for you:

For my gray sky background, I used the Lucky Stars embossing folder.  Hope you like it!  Thanks for coming by - hope you're inspired to do some Halloween crafting! :)

The Dark Knight on parade

Hi all!  Happy Monday! Just wanted to pop in with a quick Halloween recap.  Our little guy dressed up as Batman and also had his very first Halloween parade at his pre-school.  He did great at school and had fun trick-or-treating, too!  He definitely made a tough-looking Batman, complete with the buff muscles and everything.  Costumes sure have come a long way since I was a kid! All in all, it was a fun-filled Halloween.

For his class, I made little jack-o-lantern favors with the Curvy Keepsake box.  Can I just say I love that box?!  Here's a look at the treats...

I had fun making different faces on these cute pumpkins.  As for the treat inside, I decided that I didn't want to add to the heaps of candy these little 3 year olds would be getting, so I filled these with a little jar of Play-Doh. It was a perfect fit!

Now I can't wait to make different things out of this Curvy keepsake box.  I was amazed to see all the adorable creations people have pinned on Pinterest! It's definitely worth checking out.

Thanks for coming by today.  Hope you all have a great week!

It's World Cardmaking Day 2014!

Hi there blog friends! Today is World Card Making Day, so I wanted to share a few cards with you to get you inspired for Halloween, which is coming soon! I created these cards using the stamps and embellishments from the September Paper Pumpkin kit and supplementing with additional cardstock.   Don't you just love these stamps?  The Paper Pumpkin kit actually came with 6 cute burlap bags, embellishments, tags, a Tangelo Twist stamping spot, and a cute selection of Halloween images and sentiments.  Super adorable kit!  Now how about a closer look at these projects?

I created 2 quick and simple Halloween cards and this cute pouch!  I love the embossing folders - they totally dress up the cards with minimal effort. I also like how just a little bit of sequins goes a long way!

Here's a look at the burlap pouch.  Who wouldn't want to get this cute treat?  The Paper Pumpkin kit came with 3 of these polka dotted pouches and 3 striped ones so you can make 6 of these adorable treats and embellish with sequins, black twine, clothespins and assorted tags.  I love the surprise I get each month with the Paper Pumpkin kits.  The projects are always adorable and timely! If you'd like to get a surprise kit each month, you can find out more and subscribe here. You can also check out more projects on Pinterest and get some awesome inspiration using the September kit here.

For this card, I used the tags and stamps from the Paper Pumkpin kit and then used a Tangelo Twist card base.  Then, I embossed Basic Black cardstock with the Lucky Stars embossing folder from the Stampin'Up! Holiday Catalog. The pretty orange sequins from the Paper Pumpkin kit adds just a touch of bling yet keeps the card clean and simple.

This card is even simpler! No layers needed - just emboss with the Large Polka Dot embossing folder, add the sentiment and tags with just a smidge of sequin and viola! You get a fun little Halloween card ready to send!

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you get inspired to create a card for World Card Making Day!

Happy Owl-oween!

Hi all!  How are you dear blog friends?  I know it's been a while since my last post!  I tell ya, I think time is a big enemy of mine these days because it doesn't seem to allow me to do everything I'd like to do in a given day.  Do you guys feel that way sometimes?  Well things have been quite busy on my front, which means that as a result, my blog has been somewhat neglected.  So sorry, dear friends.  I do miss you guys and keep wanting to share a bunch of things with you.  I know I'll get there.  It's just a matter of getting time on my side ;)

For today, I've got a fun Halloween post for you - how cute are those owls!!  I made these Owl treats for a Woo Hoo Demo Swap this past weekend.  Since I've found the need to try and maximize my crafting moments into the small windows of time I have, I opted for a quick and easy treat project that turned out pretty darned cute for how easy they were to put together!  Here's a close up of one of the treats for you:
I used the Two tags die to create my little "treat jacket."  What I did was start with a 3"x6" piece of Frightful Sight DSP, then folded it in half.  I then placed it onto the tag die so that the crease of the DSP was just above the scoreline on the tag die. Then, run it through your Big Shot.  For the front of my treat jacket, I punched out a Scallop Circle, then I stamped my adorable little Owl from the Warmest of Wishes Hostess stamp set {Holiday Mini}  in Basic Black and punched it out with the Owl punch.  Then, I adhered the treat to the inside and then tied up the treat jacket with the cute Scallop Dots ribbon in Basic Black.  Viola!  So easy peasy!  You can put a variety of Halloween treats in this little jacket.  For my sample, I had some extra Sugar Daddys that I had and used those.  What do you think?

Wanna see the rest of the amazing Halloween swaps I got?  Here's a look:
Now, aren't these just the cutest set of Halloween treats?  The witch's hat is actually an outlet cover - isn't that clever?  How do you like that tray that's holding all the treats?  It's super easy to make.. I used our handy dandy Simply Scored board to make it.  Just score a 12"x12" piece of DSP or Cardstock at 2 inches along each edge.  Then pinch the corners into triangles and use your Crop-a-dile to punch a hole in the center of these triangles.  Cinch up the corners with ribbon and knot it or make a bow to secure.  Now you've got yourself a tray! Another quick and easy project that makes a great display for treats, cookies or really any baked goodie :)

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I will be posting this month's Final Friday giveway sometime tomorrow, too, so stay tuned for that.  Have a great night!!

just in time for Halloween!

Hey there!  I know I've told you guys I had a crazy week this week.  Well, I've been meaning to make a banner for Halloween this year and I know I had plenty of time to do it, too.  But here it is, the Friday before the big spook day... and I'm clearly running out of time.  The determined girl that I am, I created this quick and easy banner at lunch today.  Luckily, 3 letters can be put together fairly quickly ;)  Here's a quick run down of how I "blinged out" my BOO:
I used Mod Podge and applied it with a sponge brush to my letters.  Then I sprinkled the chunky glitter over the letters and let the adhesive dry.  Ta-da!  So easy!  As for the Pumpkin Pie background frames, I used the Top Note die and ran that through the Big Shot 2 times - the first time to get the basic Top Note shape, then turned the cardstock 90 degrees and centered it on the die and ran it through the Big Shot again.  I do love this unique squar-ish marquee shape!  I added texture by using the spiderweb embossing folder.  Super easy peasy and now I have a banner for Halloween!  Whew! Here's one last look:
Have a good one!  Thanks for popping in!
