Hi all - today's share is gonna be a quick one. I know that lots of kids go back to school, so I am bracing myself for some extra traffic on the road on the way to work! Also, I have a goal to get back into my running, so after this post, I'm gonna scoot for a quick run. Wow - I'm tired already just thinking of all the stuff I gotta do this morning!

Happy Labor Day! {and Freebie Friday Winner Announcement}

Hey there! Happy Labor day! Hope you all (in the US, that is) are enjoying the long weekend. For me, I think the best part of today is having it off and being able to sleep in. WooHoo! Oh, also, I wanted to report that it's cooled down a bit here in my neck of the woods in Southern CA - it's not so sweltering hot in our air condition-less house. Oh, so now let's get to our Freebie Friday Winner announcement! Are you ready? The lucky winner of this week's Fabulous Bear Notebook is... Lucky #6, who happens to be Kris!!! Yay - congrats, Kris! Thank you all for playing in another week's round of Freebie Friday.

This labor day has literally been a labor day in our household - we're doing some Spring Cleaning in the Fall. It's amazing how much stuff can pile up! So, our goal was to throw out all our little piles of random stuff and get things organized. It's still a work in progress (though we have thrown out 5 big trash bags full!). That said, I better get back to it. Hopefully, I'll be able to take a quick break later and stamp a card to share with you all :) Enjoy your day! Ciao for now...

Fabulous Freebie Friday!

My Fashionista bear has a friend - Fabulous bear. She enjoys all the finer things in life and loves to be pampered! She, too, made it on a cover of her own notebook, complete with a caption that says "You're absolutely Fabulous."

"Wouldn't this be a fabulous Freebie Friday giveaway?" she said. Yes - absolutely fabulous.

So, that's how today's Freebie Friday giveaway came to be. Isn't she a cutie? Here's a close up of her, so you can check out all her bling and accessories:
She's got a custom made square-neck tank top that I fashioned for her out of the t-shirt die cut. I simply drew in the outline on the reverse side and cut it to the shape. Her little black flower accent is made out of a scrunched up 1/2" circle punch with a brad in the middle. And her belt is black grossgrain ribbon with a square rhinestone belt buckle. Her outfit was made out of the same Night and Day DSP that I used for the fashionista bear from the other day. Did you notice her cute little herringbone peep-toe flats? She is just stylin'! I think I have found my calling as a BAB dress designer! Heehee. Here's the recipe:
{Absolutely Fabulous Bear Notebook}
All supplies SU!
*Cardstock: Pretty In Pink, Whisper White, Close to Cocoa, Very Vanilla; Night and Day and Raspberry Lemonade DSP.
*Inks: Melon Mambo Classic pad, Basic Black marker
*Dies: Stampin'Up Bear Bigz die
*Accessories: Scallop Border, 1/2" circle, modern label punch; square rhinestones, black vintage brads, black grosgrain ribbon, melon mambo polka dot grosgrain ribbon.
To play in today's Freebie Friday, just leave me a comment along with your blog website or email address on this post by midnight on Sunday, September 6th! You can comment about anything or answer this question: What are your plans for this Labor Day Weekend? Then, come back on Monday to find out who the lucky winner is!

Thanks for stopping by and playing - good luck! Have a great weekend!

Beary Haute Couture

This little bear knew she was a fashionista. She loves the fall season and loves to accessorize. Then I told her she would be on the cover of her own book. She was ecstatic! Raspberry Suite Color Challenge 16

Hey there - Happy September to you! Today's card share is what I came up with for Dawn's Raspberry Suite Color Challenge 16! This week's color palette is actually one I am really drawn to - not just in cards, but I think it's also a color scheme that catches my eye in furniture and decorating too. Here are the colors: I think it has a nice and rustic feel to it. The colors I used for the challenge are Stampin'Up!'s Crushed Curry, Chocolate Chip, Kraft, and Very Vanilla. I also used the new Sweet Centers stamp set that's available in the Holiday Mini starting today. You like? It's a fun set that coordinates with the Sweet Treats Cups that's also a new product in the mini {I will definitely have samples of this new product sometime this week - they are too cool!} In the meantime, how about a full view of my card? Here it is:
Since the colors are a little on the mellow and subdued side, I wanted to introduce different textures to the card to bring the colors out. I had fun with all kinds of accessories! I used the Champagne Mist shimmer paint on the balloon to make it more "glisteny" and dressed it up a little by adding the small half circle pearls from the Pretties kit. For the papers, I used the Big Shot Top Note die and the texturz plates to add more dimension to the card. Here's the full recipe for you:
{Charming Balloon Card}
All Supplies Stampin'Up! except where noted:
*Stamp Sets: Charming, Sweet Centers
*Cardstock: Textured Crushed Curry, Kraft, and Very Vanilla, To the Nines Specialty DSP
*Inks: Chocolate Chip Classic Stamp Pad, Crushed Curry Marker
*Accessories: Champagne Mist shimmer paint; Wide Oval, 1 3/4" circle, trio flowers, and modern label punches; Top Note Bigz Die; Stampin'Up! Texturz plates; Pretties Kit, Linen Thread, Signo Gel Pen, Flower Brad, Wood Button {PTI}
Hope you like it. Thanks for stopping by today!

Freebie Friday Winner Time

Hi there. Hope you all had a good weekend! I was happy to wake up to a nice and cool morning - yay! Hopefully this is a sign of cooling down for us. Well, guess what? It's time to announce the lucky winner of the cute Build-a-Bear Notepad! Thanks to all of you that commented :) I have to admit that when I first saw these Build-a-Bear dies in the Holiday Mini, I wasn't that excited about them. For some reason, I was thinking - "Well, what the heck would I do with those bears? They're too cutesy for me." And since convention, seeing them live and in person, they are just absolutely adorable and I have fallen in love with them! Ok...enough of my little sidebar - I digress. It's time to find out who the winner is! Drumroll....the winner is:
Comment #1 who happens to be Gayle! Congratulations to you, Gayle! I'll post a comment to your blog to let you know you won, too ;)
