Simply Snowflake Gift Box Project and #blackfridayblogcandy giveaway!

Happy Black Friday! Thanks for coming by today. I know it's a busy day of shopping - either online or hitting the malls - so I appreciate you coming by to visit! I've got a fun share today...a project you can create with the November My Paper Pumpkin kit and a couple of sheets of DSP and card stock. But before we do that, I've got some blog candy to give away!  So, let's take a look at what you can win, shall we? All you need to do is leave me a comment on this post to be eligible to win! Here's a look at the goodies:

I'm giving away a Chevron embossing folder, Designer Brads, and a roll of Old Olive Scalloped Dots Ribbon. It's all packaged up and ready for one lucky winner!

I'll be making the announcement on Monday, Dec 1. All you need to do is leave me a comment on this post by midnight Pacific Time on Sunday, November 30th!

Now that we've got the blog candy covered, we can check out this alternative Simply Snowflake project!  I had fun putting this box together and am so pleased with the outcome that I will probably be making more of these as gifts for the holidays! Here's a closer look...

I used the Simply Snowflake card as a base and then scored it at 1" on either side of the original card score lines.  This makes for a finished box of 2"x 4 1/4/"x 3 1/2".

I used the All is Calm DSP to cover the sides of the box.

Here's a look at the top of the box, with the twine removed.

And a peek at the inside.  Surprise! There's a set of cards and envelopes.  Aren't these so cute?!

Here's a look at the box filling, out of the box.

I made a set of these 3" x 4" cards using the stamps and washi tape from the Simply Snowflake kit from Paper Pumpkin and for the trim, I used a little All is Calm DSP.  I rounded the corners using the Envelop Punch Board.  There's a handy corner rounder punch right on the board!  You'll see that I used it on the envelope flap below as well.

Here are the envelopes I created using the Envelope Punch Board and the All is Calm DSP.  I'm such a fan of the Envelope Punch Board. LOVE these envies! They are such a cute size {though you can make so many different sizes on the punch board - so cool!}.  I'm smitten by the All is Calm paper, too - the prints are so FAB! The envelopes measure 3 1/4" x 4 1/4".

Here's a closer look at the set of cards and envelopes.  Whaddaya think?

Below is a list of supplies I used for the project.  Note that the Simply Snowflakes refill kit is available to order, though you need to be an existing Paper Pumpkin subscriber to get the refill.  If you're not one, I definitely encourage you to give it a try and subscribe! I think you'll really enjoy making the projects. You can click on the link below to purchase a 3 month subscription.

A look at November's My Paper Pumpkin kit

Hello peeps! One of the things I look forward to getting in the mail each month is the My Paper Pumpkin kit and I have to say I just LOVE this month's project.  The snowflake cards and holiday tags are perfect for the holidays.

The die cut snowflakes make the card look so fancy!

I love the silver baker's twine around the card.  It makes it such a pretty little package.

And the tags - how cool and hip are those? The silver foil snowflake accent with a little rhinestone bling in the center will dress up any present!

And here's a look at the card slightly opened. The sentiment is stamped on a piece of white card stock and attached to the card by a piece of festive washi tape.  How cute is that!

Here's a pic of all the goodies that come in the box.  The kit comes with enough supplies to make 8 cards and 12 tags, plus there's always extra goodies and embellies left over, so you can really make the project your own.  It really is such a nice surprise to get each month!  And, with the holidays approaching, I think it would make a great gift to give to friends who love crafting or want to dabble with crafts.  They'll love that everything they need is in the box!

How fun would it be to give a friend this cute little package that they can look forward to getting each month?  To make things easy for gift-giving, there are prepaid subscription options for you to choose from:

Not only are they great for gifts, but a great treat for yourself, too! ;)  You can check out more details and purchase your prepaid subscriptions here or visit My Paper Pumpkin to sign yourself up for month-to-month subscriptions. Thanks so much for stopping by today!  Have a great one. :)

Don't forget! I have a November Blog Candy Giveaway to celebrate my Stampin'Up! Anniversary!  Leave me a comment here to play!

{Easy as pie!} - Unboxing the October My Paper Pumpkin Kit

Hi there blog friends! How are you all?  I  hope you had a fabulous Halloween!  I know we had a great time here - stay tuned for a Halloween recap soon.  For today's post,  I'm excited to share the My Paper Pumpkin October kit!  I had a few hours this afternoon where I got the chance to craft, so I had some quality "me" time and got some much needed crafting therapy on.  How do you like that sneak peek?  Don't those pom poms look so fun?  Well, here's what the package looks like...

Seriously.  As soon as I opened up the box, I was really excited to put this project together.  These My Paper Pumpkin kits make crafting so easy! Here's a closer look at all the supplies you get to make this adorable Thanksgiving pie...

Now for a look at the big picture below...

You know what was the best part of this project? Making the POM POMS!  Not only are they fun to make (I mean, it makes me feel so crafty!), they really make the pie look that much more scrumptious!

Here's a perfect slice, just for you!  Now, if you love this project, I definitely encourage you to sign up for a My Paper Pumpkin subscription!  You'll get a new craft project each month delivered to your door.  Plus, you can check out the My Paper Pumpkin Pinterest boards to get your creative juices flowing and get inspired with more projects you can create from each month's kit. :)

For those of you that are already My Paper Pumpkin subscribers, you also have the opportunity to get extra kits from past projects while supplies last.  I love this option because there will be months where you just fall in love with the project and need or want to make more, so you can order more.  The caveat here is that it is while supplies last.  So it's definitely something you want to take advantage of right away.  I'm certainly going to order another October project because I think this will be a great little treat for my co-workers!

Hope you liked this project. Thanks so much for popping by today! I know I've been posting sporadically, so I do appreciate your visit :)

Ciao for now!

It's World Cardmaking Day 2014!

Hi there blog friends! Today is World Card Making Day, so I wanted to share a few cards with you to get you inspired for Halloween, which is coming soon! I created these cards using the stamps and embellishments from the September Paper Pumpkin kit and supplementing with additional cardstock.   Don't you just love these stamps?  The Paper Pumpkin kit actually came with 6 cute burlap bags, embellishments, tags, a Tangelo Twist stamping spot, and a cute selection of Halloween images and sentiments.  Super adorable kit!  Now how about a closer look at these projects?

I created 2 quick and simple Halloween cards and this cute pouch!  I love the embossing folders - they totally dress up the cards with minimal effort. I also like how just a little bit of sequins goes a long way!

Here's a look at the burlap pouch.  Who wouldn't want to get this cute treat?  The Paper Pumpkin kit came with 3 of these polka dotted pouches and 3 striped ones so you can make 6 of these adorable treats and embellish with sequins, black twine, clothespins and assorted tags.  I love the surprise I get each month with the Paper Pumpkin kits.  The projects are always adorable and timely! If you'd like to get a surprise kit each month, you can find out more and subscribe here. You can also check out more projects on Pinterest and get some awesome inspiration using the September kit here.

For this card, I used the tags and stamps from the Paper Pumkpin kit and then used a Tangelo Twist card base.  Then, I embossed Basic Black cardstock with the Lucky Stars embossing folder from the Stampin'Up! Holiday Catalog. The pretty orange sequins from the Paper Pumpkin kit adds just a touch of bling yet keeps the card clean and simple.

This card is even simpler! No layers needed - just emboss with the Large Polka Dot embossing folder, add the sentiment and tags with just a smidge of sequin and viola! You get a fun little Halloween card ready to send!

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you get inspired to create a card for World Card Making Day!

Happy 4th! Pinwheels and Stars - Oh My!

Hello there blog friends!  Wishing you all a very Happy 4th of July! It's a bit overcast here in Southern California, but it's supposed to be in the 80's today! I made these festive pinwheels from the June My Paper Pumpkin kit - aren't these so fun?!
Here's some more pinwheels that I supplemented with the Star Framelits.  I embossed them with the Large Polka Dots and Tiny Triangles embossing folders from the new Stampin'Up! catalog.  Love the texture that these circles and triangles add! They make my stars all the more festive, don't you think?

Well, dear friends, thanks for hanging in with me. I know it's been quiet on my blog these last few weeks. Just want to give you guys an update on my computer situation - I'm almost all set up - YAY! I've reinstalled most of my programs, but still need to download my fun fonts. One casualty that I'm super sad about is that I lost all the pictures that I edited that were on my laptop.  I learned a valuable lesson - while I was saving all of my pictures from my camera, it's the edited images like the pics I posted on my blog, my watermarks, and my MDS files that I lost.  Huge bummer. :( So, dear blog friends, I encourage you to back up all of your docs and images either on an external drive or in the cloud.  It's a good precautionary thing to do in case you lose your computer or if it gives out at some point.  Be safe!

And on that note, I'm gonna sign off here so we can get our 4th of July festivities under way.  We'll be heading down to the beach soon!  Hope you enjoy your day!  Thanks for stopping by.  Ciao for now!

Spoiler alert! November Paper Pumpkin project

Hi all!  I was so excited to get this month's My Paper Pumpkin package in the mail today and was even more pleasantly surprised at the super cute project I found inside!  Don't get me wrong, I love getting my orange box in the mail every month, but I have to say I absolutely love this adorably festive holiday card. For the November project, you get this card kit which contains supplies to create 4 of these Noel cards with envelopes along with 2 stamps {the star and the sentiment} + 1 Real Red Stamping Spot pad.  I think what I love most about the project is the star garland!  It adds that special touch of fancy to the card, don't you think?  I'm happy to say this card marks my first holiday card of the season. How about you guys?  Have you started?

I personally am so behind on the holidays in general this year. It's hard to believe that Thanksgiving is already right around the corner! Time is definitely flying.  I'll need to go into high gear with my turkey day planning - I'll be sure to share my ideas with you soon!

Thanks for visiting me today.  Hope you have a great one!
