Top Note and Texturz and a Daisy, Oh My!

Today's card share is a little hodge podge-y in that I was trying to use some scraps up as well as try a different color combo. The result = lots of use of the Big Shot and some manual cutting to make these scraps come alive. Here's the card I created - I would love to hear your opinion. The flower colors were a little unconventional for me at first when I just had the Tempting Turquoise and Bashful Blue. But once I added the celery on the petals, it neutralized the color scheme for me and made it more palatable. Then for the background layers, I went nuts for the polka dots - large and small. Of course, I had to use my go-to Big Shot die, the Top Note, to dress the card up and and bring all the elements together. Overall, the card is simplistic, but I think I do sorta like it afterall.
Here's the recipe:
*Upsy Daisy and Fifth Avenue Flowers stamp sets
*Whisper White, Tempting Turquoise, Kiwi Kiss cardstock
*Tempting Turquoise Classic Ink pad
*Tempting Turquoise, Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery Marker
*Top Note Big Shot die, Texturz plates, slot punch, and Kiwi Kiss striped ribbon, and dimensionals

Thanks for popping by today - hope you have a good one!

My first Tent Card!

Morning all! Today, I'm sharing my first tent card based on Ann's template that I posted a couple weeks ago. It's such a great and unique design and they're fun to make too. It's all in the folding. I was just thinking that they would make great place cards because they're not too big and the card design itself has such great presentation. Here's the one I made:Hope you enjoy!

My post is gonna be short and quick because I gotta get my run in this morning! Have a great day!

Mojo 86 Haiku tribute

Hi there! It's a late night post for me today with my Mojo 86 card. I haven't used the Flight of the Butterfly set lately, but thought it was a good time to dust it off and use it with the beautiful but retired Haiku Designer Series Paper. The funny thing is, this is one of the papers I horded and didn't even open up until it was retired. So, without further adieu, here's to you Haiku paper! I'm digging the orange and yellow combination these days...maybe because summer is right around the corner? In any case, I like the bright and cheery look of this card - hope you do too! It was a fun sketch!Believe it or not, no Big Shot required for this card :)
Here's the recipe - all supplies are Stampin'Up!, both current and retired products:
*Flight of the Butterfly stamp set
*Haiku DSP (retired), Shimmery White cardstock
*So Saffron and Tangerine Tango inks
*corduroy buttons in Pumpkin Pie and Summer Sun, eeylet border punch, corner rounder
Thanks for stopping by...I appreciate you visiting! Ciao for now.

It's a new Monday!

Hello there, blog friends and Happy Monday. I say it's a new Monday because this was quite an eventful weekend for me. Just a quick update for those of you that may be visiting for the first time, I just opened an Etsy storefront this past Saturday! I ended up posting 4 items to start and I am excited to share that I sold my first item! WooHoo! (Imagine me grinning from ear to ear!). You can come by and check it out at www.rdiehlboutique.etsy.com. Mind you, there are only 3 active items right now, but I hope to post some more things this week. I'd love for you to stop by anytime and feel free to tell me what you think via email or you can comment on a post here.

I also wanted to mention that I got my FIRST EVER blog award from Rochelle on Saturday, too! I am so grateful to get recognition from a fellow blogger, so THANK YOU SO MUCH, Rochelle :)

So it's also a new Monday on a personal front because I decided to commit myself to sticking to a workout schedule. That means that I'll need to manage my time better in terms of allocating time to do my running, working out, etc. along with my crafting and blogging activities (all this would occur either before or after my workday...and quality time with my dear husband and kitty too, of course). I really wish there were 30 hrs in a day, but since there are only 24, I will need to make do and be more efficient! The main reason why I'm telling you all this is that I may be posting a little bit on the erratic side until I get this schedule thing worked out. But I will guarantee that I'll do my best. :)

Now, last but not least, I wanted to announce the lucky winner of Freebie Friday 18! I did the random integer selector on www.random.org to pick the winner, and the winner is....Blog Comment #12, who happens to be Martha! Congrats, Martha! You're the winner of the Purse Gift Card Holder!

Since I haven't heard back from Melissa in WI, I will be drawing again for Freebie Friday's giveaway (the bag with scallop die in the Parisian Breeze specialty paper. The new winner for the Freebie Friday 17 is...Blog Comment #6, who came from Julie A. Congrats Julie!

I'll be emailing Martha and Julie today to get your mailing address where you'd like your goodies sent :)

Hope you all have a great week!
