Mojo 81 Sketch

After a few hours of contemplating what to do for this week's Mojo Sketch, I decided to use the "An Egg-cellent Easter" stamp set from the new Occasions mini paired with the Raspberry Tart paper. I paper pieced the little bunny's outfit with 2 different patterns from the Raspberry Tart. I didn't think I would enjoy paper piecing as much as I do, considering it can be more time intensive and I'm usually the quick and easy minimalist sort of girl. I guess these challenges have taught me to expand my paper crafting repertoire! Here's the card I came up with:I thought it was a fun and girlish sort of Easter card! I really enjoyed this sketch and after perusing some of the other entries, I've gotten some fun ideas to use this layout with other sets! It's getting late for me, so I'm gonna call it a night. See you tomorrow.

Thanks for looking!

Happy Monday to you!

Hope you all had a nice weekend. It was a gorgeous weekend here in Southern California! Just thought I'd start the week off by sharing a picture of the Hermosa Beach pier - it was such a nice clear day with the temperature in the high 60s/low 70s. We had some friends visiting from Wisconsin, so they got to enjoy some nice weather this weekend!

It's also time to announce the Freebie Friday winner. This week, the odds were great to win the little bunny! And the winner is....Jenifer! Thank you all for playing. I do love reading the comments and finding out a little more about my blog visitors, so I appreciate you taking the time to post a little something on Freebie Fridays...and really any day I get comments ;)

I just took a peek at the Mojo Monday sketch this week, and it looks like another fun sketch. Hopefully, I'll be able to get my creative juices flowing quick enough to post later today, but for sure by tomorrow. Have a great one and thanks for popping by today!

Double Challenge card entry

I'm doing double duty on this card, where the color scheme came from Dawn McVey's Raspberry Suite Week 3 Challenge and the layout came from Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge 62.
So, here's the card I made. I got to use my retired DSP, which I horded at the time, but am so glad to be using the groovy guava color scheme from last year's In Colors!I also used the Eastern Blooms stamp set, which is one of my favorite sets too. What do you think? Hope you like it! Thanks for stopping by ;)

Freebie Friday 13!

Hello and Happy Friday! Since Easter is now just a week away, I thought it would be appropo to give this bunny away this week. She's a little cutie and is filled with some sweet treats for the lucky winner!I had posted her and her chocolate bunny friend here, in case you missed it. This fun project uses the Bag with Scallops Bigz die, and the large, small, wide and scallop oval punches, as well as the 1/4", 1/2", and 3/4" circle punches. As you can see, it's very punch intensive! But the end result is this adorable little bunny treat bag. I'll be making a bunch more of these this weekend!

Are you ready to play for today's freebie? In order to participate in today's giveaway, all you have to do is leave me a comment with your email address or blog url on this post by midnight Pacific time today - Friday, April 3rd. You can comment on anything or answer today's question: What is your astrological sign? I'm a Cancer. Here's a little snippet about my sign:
You are innately attached to your home and family and are patriotic, maternal and imaginative.
I guess that makes me a home body, which is pretty true - I'm happy to hang out in my stamp room all day (if I could!) Can't wait to read about you guys!

Have a great day!

Raspberry Tart Butterfly

Good Morning! Hope you're all having a great week so far. It's already Thursday! How did that happen so fast? Today, I'm sharing a simple card using the Beatiful Butterflies Bigz die and Small Dots textured plates.
The sentiment I used is from the Flight of the Butterfly stamp set. I like this card because it's simple and understated. The butterfly die cut kinda steals the show...what do you think? Hope you like it!

Have a fantastic day!

Manhattan Flower and Harlequin Texturz combo

Hey....don't get the wool pulled over your eyes today...it's April Fool's day! I was going to try and come up with something elaborate to trick you guys, but I couldn't come up with anything clever enough, so I decided to just warn you guys of any pranks that may ensue today...so be forwarned!

Now on to more important matters, like today's card idea...I have to say that I was inspired to create my card for today's post from all the great things I've seen with this Manhattan Flower Texturz embossing folder! I created this tone-on-tone card with the Texturz harlequin embossing plate in the background. I just love the simple elegance of this die - it looks great and dressed up on it's own even when it's the only thing on the card! It makes a great wedding or shower sort of card, too, but I decided that I am always in need of Birthday cards, so that's what I made this particular card for. Here's the recipe:
* Manhattan Flower embossing folder (a total steal at $7.95,p. 202 in the Idea Book and Catty)
* Harlequin Embossing Plate
* Scallop Oval and Large Oval punches
* Wow Flowers stamp set (for the sentiment)
* Regal Rose Classic Ink Pad and Regal Rose grosgrain ribbon
* Kiwi Kiss Corduroy button
If you don't have the catalog handy, you can always go to my demonstrator website 24/7 at http://rosemariediehl.stampinup.net
Enjoy your day!

Inspired by Color and Sketch Challenges

I love the colors from Kristina's Color Challenge 47 and love the layout from Taylored Expressions Cupcake challenge #61, but sadly, I didn't make my card quick enough to submit to either challenges! Oh well, I still had fun making the card, and that's the important thing, right? It got my creative juices flowing with the color scheme and layout. Here's what I came up with:And, of course...here's the recipe:
* Tangerine Tango textured cardstock, So Saffron, Chocolate Chip, and Whisper White Cardstock
* Baroque background stamp, Trendy Trees stamp (for the sentiment)
* Daisies #2 and Top Note Bigz dies
* So Saffron grosgrain ribbon, corduroy button
What do you think? Hope you like it!
