Loopsy Daisy!

I just got my Loopy Flower sizzlit strip today and I couldn't wait to do my version of a CASE of Andrea Walford's Loopy flowers card. Her card is absolutely adorable, don't you think? (Hence my inspiration to CASE it!!!) Here's my version of it - a little simpler, but same sort of idea. I think I'll have a lot of fun trying to figure out ways to use this sizzlit strip. The flowers are so pretty, that I think they'll work well with a lot of different DSPs and color schemes.

For this card, I used the retired Georgia Peach paper, which I love. As you can tell, I have an affinity towards the pink-green combos. I also used the eyelet border and corner rounder to add a little more interest. The only stamping on this card is the sentiment! Of course, I framed it with my other new favorite punch - the scallop oval. I'm really happy with this first card using the Loopy Flowers. I'm sure you'll see more samples with this die in the near future :)

Mojo Daisies

It's Mojo Monday, and it's time for my Mojo card! Like the little sneak peek? My inspiration this week came from a bouquet of gerber daisies that are currently sitting on my kitchen table. They are so happy and spring-like that I just wanted to try and capture the colors and look onto a card. Before I get to the full card, here's the sketch for this week's Mojo 83. And, here's a full view of the card.And last but not least, I thought I'd share a picture of the bouquet of inspiration along with my card translation...

Here's to Monday...

Greetings everyone! Hope you had a nice weekend and are ready to start the week off. The weather was soo beautiful all weekend, that I think it just put me in the right mindset. I feel refreshed and ready to go for the week! We had a mellow and relaxing Sunday, so that was a nice way to cap off the weekend. This is a picture of the sunset from last night. Double the challenge, double the fun!

Let's just say that I was inspired to stamp today that I got to make cards for 2 challenges! I did Taylor's Cupcake Challenge 64 and I am participating in my first Weekend Sketch Challenge 77. Part of it is actually because I wanted to go into my craft room and straighten it up a bit, so you know what happens after that...I get preoccupied and come up with ideas as I'm picking up and trying to put stuff away! That's exactly what happened with my card for the Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge 64. The card I created uses some of the scraps that had come up from last week's Kwernerdesign Color challenge card I had made, so I couldn't let the extra flowers I had go to waste, right? So here they are, repurposed for this sketch, along with all that Raspberry Tart designer series paper goodness that I can't get enough of:All materials are Stampin'Up!, except for this card, I did use the square scallop nestabilites to frame my flowers in :)

Now this next card I created was for the Weekend Sketch Challenge, which I came across in my internet "blurfing" this morning. I came across it on Beate's blog, and followed the linke to Lori Craig's blog, who happens to be hosting the card challenge for the weekend. I was inspired by a few cards I've seen that have made a background out of a gerber daisy stamp, so I decided to pseudo-case that using the daisy-like stamp from the Fifth Avenue Florals stamp set. I also wanted to do another monochromatic card, this time in Baja Breeze. Here it is:Here's the recipe:

Saturday Shower

Today, I helped throw a shower for one of my very close friends, Michelle. It was a great day for it too - the weather was just gorgeous in Southern California. Not like the chilly weather we had all week - it was actually in the low 80's today. Very nice. Now about the shower, I had a lot of fun prepping for this little party because I got to use my crafty energy and crafty toys, to boot! I made the favors using the Scallop Bag Bigz XL die cut, and I also made a banner using the Pennant Bigz XL. I'm typically not a baker, but I have rediscovered my mini cupcake tins recently and have been making these mini frosted cupcakes. I made 48 of them, and believe it or not, they all disappeared by the end of the shower (heehee)! Then, thanks to the helpful resources on YouTube, I was able to teach myself how to make a Diaper Cake! Here are a few photos so you guys can have a little look-see on the shower soiree today.

Bella Bleu Butterfly

Today, I thought I'd share a neutral colored card using the Bella Bleu designer series paper. Every now and then, I like the muted colors just because I think they've got such a clean and elegant look. If you look closely, you'll see that the butterfly from the Great Friend stamp set almost looks camoflauged against the damask background. I was debating on the sentiment to use, since I always waffle back and forth between a birthday greeting or a thank you, so I decided I'd be more general and create an all occasion card that said "for you."
