Guess what? I am participating in my first SCS swap! The category was to use a new Stampin'Up! catalog stamp set, and create a card using Stampin'Up! products only where you also had to use a minimum of 3 embellishments or accessories. Since the cards are due to the hostess by Tuesday (tomorrow), I mailed these off the middle of last week, but I didn't want to post too early! I knew I wanted to use the Cheep Talk set, because that's one of my favorite new stamp sets and I also wanted to use the Good Morning Sunshine paper. Here's the card I made:
Check out the bunch of birdies! I had to make 11 cards, which was actually pretty fun. I got to practice using the Circle Scissors, which after some trial and error, I decided that taping the cardstock onto the glass mat secured the paper the best and prevented the cardstock from "slipping" when I circled around with the blade. I tried using the dotto adhesive, but I don't think I have the motor skills to execute that properly, since my circles didn't quite retain their uniform shape. The tape really transformed my impression of the Circle Scissors! Now I love the tool! The diameters for the circles I used are 2 7/8" and 3", which I found layered nicely on the larger scallop on the Scallop #2 die.
Hope you like my swap card! I think this is my first combo using Kiwi Kiss and So Saffron, accented with the chcoloate chip, and I think I like it. It sort of reminds me of Brazil's soccer team colors ;)
Here's more info on the circle scissors and the glass cutting mat....and here's a visual of all the images in the Cheep Talk stamp set - isn't it just too cute?!
I'll definitely post the cards I get from the swap when I get them! I'm excited to see what stamp sets and accessories everyone used!
Have a great day!
Very cute card! I can't believe I haven't bought this set yet!
