Embellish Challenge with birds

WooHoo!  I'm so excited that I'm able to play in a card challenge!!  Oh how I've missed playing.  It's been a while, but when I was briefly blurfing earlier today, I happened across Embellish's Color challenge and made the colors immediately caught my eye - they remind me of the flowers and lushness of Hawaii!  I knew I had to play.  Here's a look at the Embellish colors and inspiration:
And here's my card:
I loved putting this card together.  As you can see, I've used the Tasteful Trim Bigz XL die again.  The leaves for the birds are actully punched out of a Crate and Barrel catalog - it was a pretty green comforter!  Here's the recipe for you:
{Thinking of you birdie}

*Cardstock: Early Espresso, Very Vanilla, Playdate DSP, Sweet & Sour DSP, Woodland Walk DSP
*Inks: Early Espresso Classic Ink Pad

{thank you} Funky Four

Hey there!  Hope you're enjoying your Sunday!  I have been having sensory overload with my new stamps and accessories that I had to share another card I created!  I was finally able to squeeze in some stamping time this weekend and boy did I have fun!  The snippet of the card above gives you a peek of some fun elements I played with.  Here's a look at the full card:
I just love the Funky Four stamp set paired with the Thank You sentiment from the Curly Cute stamp set.  So fun!  As you can see, I used my fave palette of orange a pinks - in this case, I used Pumpkin Pie Regal Rose, and Rose Red.  The square scallop frame is a sneak peek of a brand new Bigz die cut from the Holiday Mini.  It's a great size!  There's actually 2 squares on the die - one is 3" and the other is 1 3/4".  The scallop trim is also new - it's from a new Bigz XL die called Tasteful Trim.  It has 4 different trim styles that I know you'll love.  I know I do.  It'll be available on September 1st, so you can check it out in just a few weeks!  Here's the complete recipe for you:

How about some Sweet and Sour?

Hello again!  I'm back with some fun projects I created from a mix of scraps and new toys!  The UPS man came yesterday with my package of sneak peeks from the upcoming Holiday Mini and a few more items from the big new catty.  Of course, I couldn't resist.  I had to try out some new stuff!

It's amazing what you can do with 1 sheet of cardstock.  I created the pillow box and 3x3 card above using an 8 1/2"x 11" sheet of Pretty in Pink paper.  Then, I dressed it up with the Sweet and Sour DSP, which is just adorable!  What I like most about it are the colors, which happen to include my current favorite palette of pink and orange.  I didn't use any of the orange DSPs this time, but rest assured you will be seeing those in the near future :)  My favorite part of these 2 quick projects is the die cut trim in the pink DSP.  It's a brand new Bigz XL die called Tasteful Trim that will be available in the Holiday Mini starting September 1st.  Here's an individual look at the 2 projects:

For the pillow box, I also dressed it up with the new seam binding that will be available in the Holiday Mini - it is so nice and shear and great for tying bows!  As for the butterfly - how cute is that punch?  I resisted so long getting it and finally broke down.  The pearl embellies are so fun, too.  Kinda getting addicted to those as well!

Hope you like the sneak peek.  That's it for now :)  I'm gonna try and make more projects this week for you guys {and for me, too!}

Toodles.

tag n treat!

Hey there peeps!  Happy Saturday!  I was hoping to post these sooner this week, but time escaped me as usual.  This is the tag we created at my open house last weekend and the little chinese take-out-box treat was the little something I gave away to all my open house attendees.  These are fun little projects that super easy peasy to make.  The little treat box comes in a pack of 12 and is in the Summer Mini catalog.  All you need to do for that is assemble!  The flowers I used are the Extra Large flower punch, and the Island Floral Bigz die.  Hope you like them!

I've gotta scoot for now, but hoping to post more either today or tomorrow.  Catch up with you guys then!

Happy Monday with 2S4Y!

Hi all!  How was your weekend?  Hope it was a great one.  I can't believe we've entered into August already.  Well, I think I've finally recuperated from my vacay jet lag and busy work week!  Thank goodness for weekends!  Today I've got this week's 2S4Y sketch for you.  Here's a look at Kazan's creative sketch:
The great thing with sketches - which I think keeps my creativity flowing - is trying to envision something new and fresh to do with the template presented that I haven't tried yet.  For me this week, it was experimenting with new color palettes.  This week's sponsor is Tiffany Doodles and the stamp set I used was the Dahlia stamp.  I just LOVE dahlias, so of course, I wanted to create my favorite color dahlia, which is the orangy-reddish ones that just look so bold and pretty.  Essentially, that's the color scheme that motivated me to create my card.  Here's a full look at what I made this week:

You could probably say that the colors look a little bit on the Halloween side, with the Pumpkin Pie and the Basic Black, but then I think the bold deep orange brightens it up a notch.  This fun bold color is from Stampin'Up!'s new In Color called Poppy Parade.  It is such a luscious shade! I also threw in a touch of vintage with the cool new SU! ribbon called Victoria Crochet Trim - so pretty and so fun to use!  Other fun embellies I added are new SU! items like the Vintage Button and the Vintage Trinket safety pin.  Whaddayathink?  I'd say it's a little out of my element, but I had fun experimenting and am pretty happy with the end result.  Hope you like it.  Here's the recipe for you:
{Little note with Dahlias}
*Stamp Sets: Dalia Digi Stamp {Tiffany Doodles}, Apple Blossom {Stampin'Up!}
*Cardstock: Crumb Cake, Whisper White, Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie
*Inks: {all SU!} Poppy Parade, Pumpkin Pie and Pear Pizazz Markers
*Accessories: {SU!} - Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border punch, Square Lattice embossing folder, Vintage Trinkets, Antique Brads, Victoria Crochet Trim, Scallop Trim Border punch, Word Window punch; Oval Scallop die{Nestabilities}
Thanks for stopping by!  Have a fantastic week.  Now, go head on over to the 2S4Y blog and get your fill of eye candy from the amazing 2S4Y Design Team! and while your at it, come play along with us! Bye for now.

July Final Friday Winner!!

Hi all!  Happy Friday to you!  I can't believe how fast this week went.  As soon as we got back from vacation, it was back to the fast paced mainland schedule.  Oh, how I wish I could be back on island time!  Well, thankfully, it's Friday!  And, it's time to announce the winner of this month's Freebie.  You ready?  Here's a look at the freebie again...
The lucky winner of this stamp set is...
Lucky # 15, who happens to be Wanda G!  Congratulations, Wanda!!!

Thanks everyone for playing!  I liked reading everyone's comments.  There's a lot of ribbon girls out there.  Also flowers and jewels as favorite embellies for cards.  So fun!  As I've gotten a chance to play with some more new toys from the new Stampin'Up! catalog, I think I'm getting addicted to the cute pearls and rhinestone embellies pretty quickly..they are so fun and add such a nice touch to cards!

Tomorrow is my New SU! Catalogopen house workshop, so I'm looking forward to that...I can't wait to share all the cool new products!  I'll let you all know how it goes.  And for those of you that can make it in person, looking forward to seeing you!

Bye for now.
