Hot off the Press - Convention Registration and My New Playlist!

Woohoo - I'm excited to share that I registered for the Stampin'Up! convention today. It's taking place this August and I really do look forward to going every year. I've made some great friends there over the years and I always am blown away by all the new things Stampin'Up! comes up with. Believe it or not, it will be my 9th year this year. I am really looking forward to this one because I would love to meet some of you virtual friends out there that I've met through my blog and visiting other blogs, in person! So, if any of you, dear readers, are planning on going to convention, leave me a comment or email me and let's try and meet in Salt Lake this August! Nothing formal or anything, but I would love the opportunity to make some name and face associations.

Another thing I'm excited about is the playlist I added to my blog just this evening! I think it's gonna be a work in progress, but so far, I'm happy with the songs I picked. I hope you guys like it too - if not, you can always turn the volume down or mute your computer ;)

Well, that's all I got tonight. I've been busy getting things ready for my friend's baby shower this coming weekend. I'll definitely share some pics after! I'll be posting a project tomorrow. I just sorta ran out of time tonight...too preoccupied with my playlist (heehee!).

Walk In the Park Butterflies

Hello again. Here's another card I created with the Walk In the Park DSP and the Great Friend stamp set. This time, I refrained from using the Big Shot ;) ...believe me, it was tough! I am still happy with the card, because I just love this color combo! I made this card for my Aunt and Uncle, who will be celebrating their anniversary on Tax Day. The border punch I used is one of the EK border punches I got at Michael's, but other than that, all supplies are Stampin'Up! Hope you like it! Here are all the images from the Great Friend set:
It's a versatile set that can change its look depending on the color scheme you choose. I've seen some great samples in the blues, greens and browns. That's on my to do list...using those colors with this set :)

Mojo's a Walk in the Park!

I'm so glad I was able to come up with a design tonight for the Mojo Monday 82 Card Sketch! It's definitely one of the things I look forward to doing on Mondays! I knew what set and cardstock I wanted to use, it was just a matter of figuring out what color combo to use from the adorable Walk In The Park designer series paper from the Occasions Mini Catalog. I really LOVE all the patterns! They all coordinate really well with the Great Friend stamp set. And, of course, I got to use the Big Shot again for this card. For those of you who've been on the fence about the Big Shot or die cutting in general, I can tell you that I really think I do get my money's worth from all the dies and embossing plates. It's practically rare for me to NOT use the Big Shot for a card or papercrafting project! Here's the card I came up with for this sketch - I think it came out very happy and springy! Hope you like it!Here's what I used:

*Walk in the Park and Sweet Always DSP, Baja Breeze, Regal Rose, and So Saffron cardstock

Taylor's TECC 63 Sketch

Believe it or not, I was able to squeeze in another sketch late last night...here is the card I made for the Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge 63. Since I had the Rockabilly paper out, I was inspired to create something a la Ed Hardy (sort of, I guess). I wish I had the Just Jawwing set, but had to make do and use the Rockstar stamp from the "A Little Somethin'" stamp set. Here's what I made:Here's the recipe:

*Rockabilly Specialty DSP, Black textured cardstock and Whisper White and Kiwi Kiss cardstock

Kristina Werner's Color Challenge 49

Hello all and Happy Easter Sunday to all of you! Hope you've had a nice day so far. Today, I'm posting a card I created for Kristina Werner's Color Inspiration Challenge #49. I thought the color scheme was a good challenge, since it's a color palette that I haven't used so far in my card making. I wanted to do something bold and use some new die cuts I've gotten (you can never have enough, right?!). Here's the card I created.
I had a lot of fun using all kinds of tools for this card! I even pulled out my crimping tool for the leaves! I embossed the rockabilly paper with the texturz plates, then sanded it to distress the paper and reveal the white embossing. Here's the recipe:
