Since I've been playing with Adobe Photoshop Elements 7, I thought I'd add a signature to my posts. If you're familiar with creating a watermark, then adding a signature will be a piece of cake! Felt butterflies fluttering by
Hello all! Happy Thursday! Today, I'm actually sharing a non-card project. I've been wanting to make something with felt using the Big Shot dies, and I've finally come up with this Felt Butterfly album that I made for my cousin's bday. I'm posting this today because I am actually seeing her, and she typically doesn't check the internet first thing, so I don't think she'll see this...heehee. Here's the album:
I am really happy with how this album came out! Also - did you notice my new watermark? I'm happy to tell you all that my Adobe Photoshop Elements 7 finally came the other day, and of course, I had to play around with it and create this watermark! It was a little bit of a challenge navigating and trying to figure out how to do things without a manual, but luckily I managed :)
So back to the project... I actually had to bust out my glue gun...which I have to say I haven't used in years. I was glad to find that I did still have it, as well as a bag full of glue sticks! So here's what I did.
I was very excited to be able to use the Beautiful Butterflies Bigz die for this project. I have to say that the Bigz dies cut felt beautifully! So, I cut the large butterfly in the light blue felt and the smaller one in chocolate brown and actually stitched them and the button all together. Once I had the butterfly ensemble, I set that aside and cut out the "G" in felt. Here's a tip...now knowing that felt doesn't hold letter shapes like the "G" very well, I would recommend that you mount the felt onto cardstock or something that is firmer, because gluing down the G was a little challenging to get the shape right. Ok..I'm getting ahead of myself. Here's the order of assembly:

1. Glue ribbon onto the cover first. The hot glue gun really does a good job holding it down.
2. Next, glue down the butterfly. I also glued down the wings of the brown felt butterfly onto the blue one, just so that it was more secure.
3. Glue down the 3 buttons and space them out a little towards the "G" or whatever initial
4. Gluing the G - I did it in segments starting at the top end and working and shaping your way to the bottom. Like I said, if you can mount the letter onto cardstock, that would probably be a better call!
5. Add the Pearl pretties and you're done!

Central Park Birthday
As I had mentioned, I've got lots of Birthdays to stock up for, so I'm sharing another birthday card I made using the Texturz embossing plates and the Simple flower embosslit.
I added even more texture to the flower using the Sanded Background stamp inked up in Rose Red. The stamp set I used is the Central Park set - love those leaves! First, I stamped the leaves onto the Shimmery White paper and then I stamped them again on another piece of paper and cut it out to add a dimensional layer of leaves. I added the flower on top with a Pretties pearl center, and voila! I like this color scheme,as you can tell. It's got that preppy girlie feel to it that I just love! Well, I hope you like today's sample. Enjoy your day!

Polka Dot Hearts
Hello all! As promised, I've got a Sale-a-bration sample for you today that also doubles as a Valentine card. The hearts are from the set called Polka Dot Punches, and as the name implies, these images are a perfect fit for the Stampin'Up! punches :) Here's the card I made:
I love the large 1 3/4" circle punch - it made a great backdrop for my hearts! If you've noticed from my last few cards, I also have a thing for buttons these days too! I love the look of cinching the wider grosgrain ribbons with a button and linen thread. Not only is it a cute accent, but I've found that it's less bulky than knotting the ribbon, so it's a nice alternative if you don't want your cards to be too thick for mailing (extra postage is required for cards thicker than 1/4").

Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge 72!
Hello there! I'm back again today with my Mojo Monday sketch entry! I've come to look forward to this Monday challenge to spark my creativity for the week! I love playing with all my new Stampin'Up! goodies, so it was hard to pick what to use today. Since there are so many birthdays to celebrate this month, I have a vested interest in creating a bunch of birthday cards. Here's the card I created with the new Urban Oasis paper. I'm calling this card Baja Birthday cuz I love the baja breeze paper with this layout - to me, it looks very subdued and sophisticated with this color scheme. I think the card can be used for a guy or girl's bday..what do you think?

Superbowl Sunday Musings..and Sale-a-bration!
Happy Superbowl Sunday! Now, I know some people are super passionate about today's game, but I have to say that I'm just participating for the festivities :) Oh, don't get me wrong - I like watching football every now and then, though I'm more of a college football fan. By virtue of geography, the Cardinals get my vote for the win, but I wouldn't be too phased if the outcome were reversed. Truthfully, I'm looking forward to the commercials and the snacking and the football party commraderie.
